DON’T MISS THE WORLD PREMIERE OF GOOD SEX!
I thought the premise was a little silly at first… put cameras in my client’s bedrooms? Why?
I had already been a successful sex coach for years. Why all of a sudden would I go from the standard model of talk-based sessions to a new, untested model? But still, I was intrigued, so I agreed to try it out.
What I would learn over the next three years became one of the most important turning points in my coaching and has, more importantly, laid the foundation for thousands of couples to learn more about their own intimate lives.
Simply by watching what happens inside the bedrooms of other couples, we are given an unprecedented mirror through which to see into their own.
I’m Caitlin V, a Certified Erotic Blueprint Coach™, and the star of the upcoming show Good Sex on Discovery+, which premiers on August 19.
The show follows 5 couples as they work with me, their sex coach, on their intimate issues.
Challenges such as erectile dysfunction, inability to orgasm, mismatched libidos, and more are front and center on the show. Literally, front and center, because each of these couples agreed to let me put small, security-style cameras next to and over their beds for the duration of our time working together.
Over the course of 6 episodes, we see each of these five couples both in my office and in their homes and bedrooms.
In my office, we spend our sessions talking and doing exercises designed to both teach them new skills as well as give them a direct experience of things like the Erotic Blueprints®. And during these sessions, I use clips from their bedroom cameras to demonstrate directly to them what I want them to work on and what I want to celebrate.
While it might sound a little unorthodox, there’s nothing entirely orthodox about sex coaching, to begin with. And while putting video cameras in your room might not be for you, one of the best things about being a coach or working with one is that you get to make up the rules.
Each of these couples generously agreed to have not just their erotic lives filmed for the show, but their entire bedroom life. And over the course of months, I saw way more than just intercourse. I saw fights, tender moments, dogs, babies… and a whole lot of sleeping. And of course, as a coach, one of the most exciting things I saw was them doing their homework from our sessions!
And when it came to sex, I got an unparalleled view into the reality of their intimacy.
If you’ve ever worked with a sex coach or even just tried to tell your friends the details of an intimate encounter, you know that it can be frustrating to turn sexual events into words. This is especially true if you don’t have a shared baseline of understanding to compare it to. I’ll give you an example.
One of the couples on the show, Erica and Thomas, came to me because Erica was struggling to have an orgasm. Normally, I would ask them to describe what they’re doing in bed from start to finish, what’s working and what isn’t, and what they suspect is going on. I would ask them about foreplay, about touch, about the time and the privacy of the space they’re being intimate in. This conversation would normally take up the span of a few sessions.
But the instant I look at the bedroom footage, I know just about everything I need to know.
In the footage, I can see that their play lacks build-up or any kind of crescendo. The intensity of touch and stimulation that they begin their lovemaking with is the height of intensity that these two people are able to reach.
Translation: no slow build-up, no pleasure waving, just hot, fast, and heavy from start to finish.
I share this with you, not from a place of them doing anything wrong! They weren’t. They were just doing what they knew to do. And I applaud them because they were brave enough to let me have a window into their bedroom to see and catch this during their first session.
During that session, I am able to demonstrate what it means to have a wide-range scale or spectrum of sensation during a session. These two take that information home and put it to use right away, which again, I can see in the cameras.
This allows us to move on to their other questions and desires quickly, and it allows me to confirm that they really understood the assignment and were able to embody it in bed.
And this is just one example. No matter who you are or what you are dealing with in your bedroom, I am positive that you will see yourself represented by one of my clients on the show.
Part of what is essential to the work I do as a coach is the Erotic Blueprints®. These are featured and discussed throughout each session with every couple.
Between the five main couples and several one-off sessions with a throuple, adult virgins, a professional domme, and more, you’ll see my work with the Erotic Blueprints® in new and interesting ways.
You’ll also get to go inside real coaching sessions and see me implement several of the tools and techniques that I’ve learned from Jaiya and the Erotic Blueprint Breakthrough™ Community over the years. It’s an unprecedented look at how coaching works and the power of transformation it holds for those willing to do the work.
And for my colleagues, I’m so honored to have a chance to contribute to the elevation of sex coaching as a field. It’s a privilege to introduce our work to the Discovery+ audience, and my desire is to see the show spread far and wide.
No matter what, I hope viewers are left with a sense of possibility and a deep knowing that you are not alone in whatever challenge you’re facing.
On top of that, I wish for them to experience Good Sex. Because, as one of my Erotic Blueprint Coach™ community friends said last week, regularly having Good Sex IS great.
Good is what we should aim for, not perfection.
It’s not about having earth-shattering sex every time (although if you continue exploring the Erotic Blueprints®, that’s certainly going to happen more often) it’s about having more regular access to Good Sex.
